Tokyo Speaks is a podcast featuring a diverse and inspiring international community in Tokyo.
This podcast published its first episode in December of 2017, under the former name Raw Urban Mobile Podcast (Episodes 1-77 ). Original hosts Terrence Holden (Cliff) and Harry Maison (Shockolate Buddah) recorded each episode inside a 1999 Chevy van, on the streets of Tokyo.
Over a span of two years, this expat duo interviewed more than 80 people from the international community — community groups, local businesses, industry leaders and other ambitious individuals living in Tokyo metropolis.
Rebrand 2020
After co-host Shockolate Buddha left the podcast in January 2020, Cliff decided to rebrand the podcast to the name Tokyo Speaks. The show is now hosted by Cliff (producer) and people from the community, who appear on the show as guest hosts.
Tokyo Speaks has been been featured in local media outlets, such as The Japan Times, Tokyo Weekender, and Metropolis Tokyo.
